Head of the National Council Olha Gerasimyuk and acting

Andriy Shapovalov, head of the Center for Combating Disinformation, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two bodies.

This is reported by the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting.

"The modern world lives in the digital era, the era of artificial intelligence. This creates numerous challenges for Ukraine, because the war is not only waged in an open way of armed aggression, it penetrates through various information gaps, always looking for new ways," the message reads.

During the signing of the Memorandum, Olga Gerasimyuk noted that the term "disinformation" does not even exist in Ukrainian legislation, although we have been dealing with the phenomenon for many years.

Often, Ukraine has to "catch up, fight back, somehow patch the holes through which this war penetrates", but it is time to develop a state policy in this matter.

"Our joint task is to create a powerful defense policy in our country in this area and, I think, not only defense, but also offensive," said the head of the National Council.

It is for this reason that the media regulator joined forces with the Center for Combating Disinformation.
