Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, 101 female military personnel have died in the fight against the Russian invaders.

This was stated by Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov during the Ukrainian Women's Congress.

"101 female military servicewomen died. 50 are missing, more than 100 are injured. 50 women have already been awarded state awards, received the title of Heroes of Ukraine, unfortunately, posthumously," the minister said.

According to the Ministry of Defense, 59,786 women are currently serving in the Armed Forces.

Of them, 41,000 are military personnel and almost 19,000 are civilian workers.

About 5,000 women are directly involved in hostilities.

Reznikov reminded that as of July 20, there were 38,629 female military personnel in the Armed Forces.

Therefore, we can now confidently talk about the dynamics of increasing the number of women among Ukrainian defenders.

Earlier, in an interview with the BBC, Olena Zelenska told how the war changed the lives of Ukrainian women.

Olena Zelenska also stated that the role of women in war is now very large in Ukraine.

Therefore, our state cannot be called a patriarchal society.
