For diesel buses leaving the factory before December 31, 2011, it is required to emit air pollutants and black smoke within one year. From May 1 to the end of October this year, with the detection of the AI ​​license plate recognition system, 36 vehicles have been sanctioned.

According to the County Environmental Protection Bureau, the Alishan Air Quality Maintenance Area covers 63 kilometers to 94 kilometers of the Alishan Highway. The smoke exhaust of diesel buses must meet the 1.0m-1 self-management excellent label of the Environmental Protection Agency. The County Environmental Protection Bureau stated that starting from May 1 this year, two sets of AI license plate recognition systems and stop and patrol operations were used to ban buses. Before law enforcement started, the detection rate of buses was about 67.9%. After the control was implemented, the detection rate increased to 83.9%.
