[Reporter Su Jinfeng/Taichung Report] The nine-in-one general election has ended, and the election of the chairman and deputy speaker will be held on December 25th. The next Taichung City Council has less than half of the votes. The candidates for the chairperson and deputy speaker should still be the same as in the third term. Although the Kuomintang has less than half of the candidates, it will combine forces from other political parties and non-party members to obtain the seats for the chairperson and deputy speaker.

Li Tiansheng, chairman of the Central City Party Committee of the DPP, said that the DPP will definitely select a group of candidates, although not more than half, will find a way to combine the forces of the times, the People's Party and other opposition parties, and things can still be done.

In the 4th Taichung City Council, the Kuomintang and the Democratic Progressive Party are no more than half of the members. Among the 65 members, the Kuomintang won 32 seats, the DPP 24 seats, 7 seats without party membership, and 1 seat each from Times Power and the Taiwan People's Party.

Yan Wenzheng, chairman of the Central City Party Committee of the Kuomintang, said that although the Kuomintang won 32 seats this time, we still have to thank the citizens for their support. The candidates for the chairman and deputy speaker should be the original combination of this term. Support from other political parties and independents.

Li Tiansheng, chairman of the Central City Party Department of the DPP, said that although the DPP only has 24 seats this time, the KMT has not won more than half. With the support of party members, there is still something to be done if non-KMT members are elected as the chairman and deputy speaker.

The chairmen and deputy speakers of this term are Zhang Qingzhao and Yan Limin, both of which are the second constituency of Qingshui, Shalu, and Wuqi. Zhang Qingzhao is a red faction, Yan Limin is a black faction, and the newly elected city councilor, Yan Limin has the highest votes in this constituency. It reached 29,586 votes, while Speaker Zhang Qingzhao came in third with 19,979 votes. Whether the two sides agree to match the chairperson and vice-chairperson according to this term may need to be coordinated.
