GDBOP officials detained a 45-year-old woman for fraud, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

In relation to her, a request will be submitted to the court for the adoption of a remand "detention in custody" measure.

The work of the investigators began when the victim (chairman of TELK) turned to the police for help.

She stated that on November 17, a woman pretending to be a lawyer warned her that checks had been launched against her in the DG "Combating Organized Crime" and that she was under surveillance, and that she would be arrested within days.

Three arrested for internet fraud

In order to "help" her, the supposed lawyer asked for an amount of 20,000 euros.

On November 25, the victim gave her part of the requested money - 5,000 euros.

Immediately afterwards, the woman trying to mislead was detained by GDBOP officers.

By decree of the prosecutor on duty, she was detained for a period of up to 72 hours.

The work continues under the supervision of the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office.
