Drivers should drive with caution and appropriate speed on the Montana-Sofia road in the area of the "Petrohan" pass due to reduced visibility and light snowfall.

This was announced by the press center of the Road Infrastructure Agency (API).

Earlier today, the road agency warned drivers who are traveling in Western Bulgaria to set off with cars prepared for winter conditions.

A decrease in temperatures is expected and at night in the high fields in Western Bulgaria and the Pre-Balkans, the rain will change to snow.

A yellow warning code for dangerous weather was announced for today in the districts of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Lovech, Sofia, Pernik, Kyustendil and Blagoevgrad.

We continue to slowly move away from the real winter

The regional road administrations monitor the weather forecasts by region and are ready to take the necessary actions to treat the pavements in the high mountain areas and the passes where there are conditions for slippery and icy conditions in the wet areas, the API indicated.

The aim is for preventive and then snow removal activities to start as quickly as possible when the weather is forecast to worsen, in order to ensure the passability of the roads.

The priority is the motorways, the busiest routes on the first-class and second-class road network and the passages providing the connections between Northern and Southern Bulgaria.
