On the fourth Saturday of November, Ukraine commemorates the victims of the Holodomor.

The Center for Combating Disinformation informs about this in a message on the Telegram channel.

The term "genocide" - "genocide" - appeared in 1944, and in 1953 it was publicly called "the extermination of the Ukrainian nation a classic example of genocide."

With a repressive policy, the communist authorities wanted to subjugate Ukrainians, finally eliminating opposition to their regime and the struggle for the revival of their own statehood.

90 years have passed, and another dictator of the Russian lands staged a new genocide of Ukrainians.

"Today, no one doubts that Putin ranks with Hitler and Stalin.

By bombing maternity homes, "erasing" cities and killing thousands of civilians, Putin is "defending Ukraine from the Nazis who came to power."

The memory of the Holodomor motivates Ukrainians to resist another genocide perpetrated by the enemy.

But it is impossible to overcome a nation that went through the Holodomor!", the message says.

Since the beginning of the XXI century.

The Russian Federation consistently denies the Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian people, starting with the adoption of statements expressing protest against its international recognition as a crime against Ukrainians, and ending with the public burning of the National Book of Memory of Holodomor Victims and the destruction of Holodomor monuments.

Why Putin's Kremlin is afraid of the word "Holodomor" and what fakes about the crime of Stalin's genocide of Ukrainians were invented by Soviet and Russian propaganda - read in the joint infographic of the Center for Combating Disinformation and the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, dedicated to honoring the memory of the victims of the Holodomor.

Memorial Day is celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday of November on the basis of presidential decrees of 1998 and 2007.

In the 20th century, Ukrainians survived three Holodomors: 1921-1923, 1932-1933 and the famine of 1946-1947.

The greatest was the famine of 1932-1933 - it is called the genocide of the Ukrainian people, carried out by the regime of Joseph Stalin.

According to various estimates, about 4.5 million Ukrainians died then.

Today, 22 states officially recognized the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

We will remind that earlier

in Odesa region they recreated the food of Holodomor times
