Vladimir Kalinichenko, former investigator of special important cases of the Prosecutor General's Office of the USSR, who investigated the massacre organized by Armenians in Sumgait in 1988, third-class state judicial adviser Vladimir Kalinichenko, died.

According to APA's Moscow correspondent, the well-known investigator died at the age of 75.

It should be noted that Kalinichenko was sent to Azerbaijan by the Prosecutor General's Office of the USSR immediately after the events in Sumgait in February 1988.


Kalinichenko investigated the Sumgayit case as an investigator for special important cases of the General Prosecutor's Office.

It was Vladimir Kalinichenko who issued the resolution on the arrest of the Armenian Eduard Grigoria, one of the participants and organizers of the Sumgait events.
