Russian oppositionist and publicist Andriy Piontkovskyi is convinced that Ukraine will receive ATACMS missiles and other weapons necessary for victory from the US, but this will not happen quickly, because Washington seeks to ensure the controlled disintegration of Russia.

Piontkovsky expressed this opinion to the "Money" project.

"First of all,

it (weapons - ed.) will arrive

. But I will answer why it has not arrived yet. First of all, there is a huge Putin fifth column around the same Trump who demands to stop support altogether. But we are talking now about the struggle within the Biden administration. I think there are two things in the balance. Yes,

they are for victory now

. They agreed, they are for Ukraine's victory.

On the other hand, there is traditional American caution

," the publicist said.

He gave an example that "will help to understand the absurdity of the American consciousness."

It is about the visit of the 41st President of the USA George Bush Sr. to Ukraine in 1991, during which he urged Kyiv not to insist on the independence of the state.

"He came to Kyiv. August 1991. He did not speak in the Verkhovna Rada, because there was no Verkhovna Rada then, there was a "Supreme Soviet". He urged Ukrainians, almost tearfully, not to insist on their independence under any circumstances. Even the communists booed him. This indicates a

complete misunderstanding of the psychology of Ukrainians by the Americans

. There is a fear of jumping into the unknown in the United States," Piontkovskyi explained.

He is convinced that the

USA wants to ensure "a controlled process of the disintegration of Russia"

 - not by Ukrainians, but by Americans.

"This is the traditional school of political thought - everything should be controlled, careful," the oppositionist added.

We will remind, earlier the adviser to the head of the OP Mykhailo Podolyak stated that ATACMS missiles with a range of 300 km would bring the end of the war closer, allowing Ukraine to destroy large enemy military depots in the depths of the occupied territories.

According to military expert Oleg Zhdanov, ATACMS is not given to Ukraine for two possible reasons: because they see that the Armed Forces are already doing well on the battlefield and because of fears of attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, Russian oppositionist and lawyer Mark Feigin believes that further massive Russian shelling of Ukraine increases the chances of receiving ATACMS missiles.
