The conditions in which Ukrainian soldiers are fighting near Bakhmut began to resemble the front line of the First World War.

On Twitter, a user with the Walter Report account posted black-and-white photos from the Western Front of World War I and modern photos from Bakhmut, which are hard to tell apart without a caption.

As early as August 1, the Russian Ministry of Defense officially announced the beginning of the battle for Bakhmut, however, despite temporary successes recorded especially in the southern section of the attack direction, Russian troops did not manage to occupy the city even after almost 4 months of fighting using kamikaze drones obtained from Iran , reinforcements withdrawn from Kherson, as well as new units mobilized.

We will remind you that previously volunteer Viktor Borynets published a photo of Ukrainian defenders defending Bakhmut of the Donetsk region in terrible conditions.
