[Reporter Yu Zhaofu/Report from Keelung] The results of the 2022 Lianjiang county magistrate election were announced. The Kuomintang candidate for Lianjiang county magistrate and former deputy county magistrate Wang Zhongming declared himself elected with 4,300 votes at 6:00 p.m.

Cao Eryuan, another county magistrate candidate from the Kuomintang, received 3,553 votes, while Li Wen, the county magistrate candidate nominated by the DPP for the first time in 36 years, received 580 votes.

It has been more than two years since Zhongming decided to run for the election in 2019. In the past two years, Zhongming has gone deep into the grassroots of the four townships and five islands, listening to the voices of every villager. These voices are firmly in Zhongming's mind.
