Earth Observation Satellite-6 is the third generation satellite in the Oceansat series.

Chennai:

ISRO will launch OceanSat-3 (OceanSat) satellite from the launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota today.

Launching will be done with PSLV-XL rocket.

Along with this, 8 nano satellites will also be launched.

The primary payload of the rocket is an OceanSat which will be separated in orbit-1.

While eight other nano-satellites will be placed in different orbits depending on the requirements (in Sun-synchronous polar orbits).

This mission of ISRO will be one of the longest running missions done by the scientists.

ISRO said that the final payload separation is expected at an altitude of 528 km.

Earth Observation Satellite-6 is the third generation satellite in the Oceansat series.

It is to provide continuity services of Oceansat-2 spacecraft with enhanced payload specifications as well as application areas.

The objective of the mission is to ensure data continuity of ocean color and wind vector data to sustain operational applications.

Customer payloads include ISRO Nano Satellite-2 (INS-2B) for Bhutan carrying two payloads namely NanoMX and APRS-Digipitor.

NanoMx is a multispectral optical imaging payload developed by Space Applications Centre, while APRS-Digipeater payload is jointly developed by Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, Bhutan and UR Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru.

Pixel is ready to launch its third hyperspectral satellite.

'Anand' is a hyperspectral miniature satellite that weighs less than 15 kg, but has more than 150 wavelengths which allows it to photograph Earth in greater detail than today's non-hyperspectral satellites (whose wavelengths do not exceed 10). Will enable you to take
