[Reporter Fang Zhixian/Kaohsiung Report] Kaohsiung’s 10th constituency (Qianzhen, Xiaogang) has 17 candidates competing for 8 seats. The results of the voting show that 3 people from the Democratic Progressive Party and the Kuomintang were elected, 1 from the Taiwan Federation, and 1 from the Wumeng ; All 7 incumbent MPs were re-elected, and Lin Wanrong, who did not seek re-election, was grabbed by newcomer Huang Yanyu.

The 8 elected members are DPP Chen Zhizhong (18,545 votes), DPP Zheng Guangfeng (15,917 votes), KMT Chen Lina (15,696 votes), KMT Zeng Liyan (15,469 votes), KMT Cai Wuhong (14,689 votes), Wumeng Li Shunjin (13,660 votes), Taiwan Federation Wu Mingci (13,428 votes), and DPP Huang Yanyu.

Among them, Huang Yanyu of the Democratic Progressive Party won 10,826 votes over the 10,601 votes of Huang Yongxiu, another newcomer of the same party.

Newly elected city councilor Huang Yanyu said tonight that he would like to thank legislator Lai Ruilong, former legislator Guo Wencheng, and councilor Lin Wanrong for their support, as well as the love and support of the folks in Xiaogang, Qianzhen Township. He will work hard and serve the folks in the next four years.

Huang Yanyu used to be a staff member of the former Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Ju's city government team. He has experience in the Labor Bureau, Economic Development Bureau, Water Conservancy Bureau, Works Bureau, Mayor's Office and other bureaus of the city government. He also served as the chairman of the Kaohsiung City Party Department of the DPP , and to the Central Ministry of Economic Services.
