[Reporter Hong Meixiu/Hsinchu Report] The Hsinchu mayor election is tight. As of 6:00 p.m. today, Gao Hongan of the People's Party leads with more than 50,000 votes, Shen Huihong of the DPP with more than 40,000 votes, and Lin Gengren of the Kuomintang with more than 20,000 votes.

And Gao Hongan is located in the ticketing center of the Confucian Temple in Hsinchu City. The later the night, the more supporters gather. There will be music performances on the spot, like a carnival. Gao Hongan is expected to appear at the headquarters at 7 pm to give a speech.

In the Hsinchu mayor election, Gao Hongan continued to lead in the number of votes, showing the power of the forfeit effect of the blue camp before the election. Gao Hongan is almost in the lead in all polling stations.

Today, the Hsinchu mayor turnout rate is about 61.09%, and the referendum turnout rate is about 59.65%, which is lower than the 65% turnout rate in 2018.

The entire ballot counting process in Hsinchu City is expected to become clear at 7:00 pm. It is estimated that the threshold for the election of the mayor is about 80,000 votes.
