Russian oppositionist and lawyer Mark Feigin considers it strange the death of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Volodymyr Makei, who was the state's communicator with the West.

Fagin told Channel 24 about this.

"This morning I commented on the information that Lukashenka was threatened with death for his intransigence. And here Mackay dies instead of him. Again they will say that we are making things up on the fly. We are not making things up, but

it is somehow strange. It is like dying in a war from the common cold

is very strange," the oppositionist expressed his opinion.

He also said that Mackay traveled to Europe and tried to be a kind of buffer between the regime of the self-proclaimed president Oleksandr Lukashenka and the West.

The minister tried to agree on some special conditions for the Belarusian dictator.

"I understand that

Lukashenko trusted him a lot

, because he dealt with very confidential and sensitive topics," Feigin remarked.

He did not rule out that Mackay did not die his own death.

"Probably, he was a certain communicator who really spoke out an interesting scenario for Lukashenka under the conditions of the West regarding non-participation in the operation from the North regarding Ukraine. Could this be the case? I do not rule it out. Does this mean that

Moscow was interested in eliminating such of Lukashenka's confidant

so that he simply disappears? You know, we've seen everything, we won't be surprised by anything," said the lawyer.

He added that this is quite possible against the background of rumors about the shaky position of Lukashenka himself, who is under pressure in the Russian Federation to directly enter the war against Ukraine.

So far, he is evading it, using various arguments, and Moscow is not satisfied with this.

So Fagin did not rule out that Makey could become a Russian target and be

poisoned with chemical substances

, which is the signature style of the Russian Federation.

However, the truth should be established with the help of an autopsy and examination.

"If he was really poisoned or irradiated, probably the Belarusian side should know about it. Whether it will inform us about it is the next question. But

for Lukashenka himself, this could be a signal

: "Look, friend.

Some people don't live here for a long time." I can allow that," said the oppositionist.

According to another version, which is less likely, Makei could have been removed by Lukashenko himself, who learned something about the minister.

It will be recalled that the death of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Volodymyr Makei, became known on November 26.

The diplomat died at the age of 64.

The cause of his death was not specified.

Note that, as analysts of the Robert Lansing Institute reported, Russia plans to eliminate Lukashenka in order to gain control over the army of Belarus and use it in the war with Ukraine.

It is noted that the Kremlin has allegedly already made a relevant decision.
