Billionaire Elon Musk

Elon Reeve Musk (English: Elon Reeve Musk, /ˈiːlɒn ˈmʌsk/) is a Canadian-American engineer, inventor, has announced that he will support Ron DeSantis if the governor of Florida, who recently won a second term, runs for president, the agencies reported.

"I prefer the next president to be someone who is reasonable and centrist.

I was hoping the Biden government would turn out like this, but so far I remain disappointed,'' Musk wrote on Twitter.

In a subsequent message on the social network, he answered "yes" to a question about whether he would support Desantis in the 2024 presidential election.

Trump officially announced his candidacy for the White House

I remind you that I was a big supporter of the Obama-Biden tandem in the presidency and reluctantly preferred Biden to Trump, the owner of Twitter also wrote.

Back in June, Musk announced that he was inclined to support Desantis in the 2024 presidential election, and then added that the Florida governor would easily defeat Biden.

Asked at the time to comment on Musk's support, Desantis quipped: "I welcome the support of African Americans, what can I say."

Musk, who is white, grew up in South Africa.

Desantis is particularly popular among conservatives for spearheading the culture wars on issues such as race and gender.

His tenure as governor was marked by his opposition to health measures related to the pandemic, his passage of a law to limit the discussion of LGBT issues in schools and his feud with Walt Disney over the law.

Republican Ron DeSantis won a second term as Florida governor

Earlier this month, he defeated Democratic challenger Chris Crist by nearly 20 percent and was re-elected governor, cementing his status as the GOP's rising star, Reuters noted.

In the midterm elections, Musk urged American voters to vote for a Republican-dominated Congress to counter Biden's Democrats.

But Democrats dashed Republican hopes for a "red wave" in the midterm elections and retained control of the Senate, while their opponents only won the House, and then by a narrow margin.
