[Reporters Lu Xianxiu and Lin Jiadong/Keelung] Voting in Keelung City was quite active this morning. However, at the Zhenshali Voting Office in Zhongzheng District, an 86-year-old man took the referendum ballot and did not want to vote. He put the ballot in his bag and took it out. If found by election officials and the police are notified for questioning, they will be transferred to the Keelung District Prosecutor’s Office for investigation in accordance with Article 41 of the Referendum Law.

Lin Yongfa, chairman of the Election Committee of Keelung City and deputy mayor, said that today's weather is much better than the previous two days, so many people lined up outside the polling office at 7 o'clock in the morning and waited to vote. He hoped that everyone would be orderly and smooth. Complete your vote.

However, an 86-year-old gentleman at the No. 29 poll counting station in the afternoon had already received the referendum ballot but had not voted. He put the referendum ballot in his carry-on bag and wanted to take it out. The police arrived at the scene and brought the old man back to the investigation office.

The Election Committee of Keelung City and the Second Sub-bureau reminded the public not to take ballots out of the polling station, nor to make noise within 30 meters of the polling station, or to guide others to vote, which may violate the law.

Keelung City voted fairly enthusiastically this morning.
