According to the statistics of the Central Meteorological Bureau, there will be extreme high temperature in November this year. It was 1.6 degrees higher than the climate average, the warmest for the same period in history.

In addition, the Yushan Observatory recorded the warmest autumn since the establishment of the station. The average temperature from September to November 23 was 8.03 degrees, 1.96 degrees higher than the climate average of 6.07 degrees from September to November, and also higher than the highest temperature in the same period in history. 7.67 degrees in 2017 is still high.

According to statistics from the Bureau of Meteorology, the lowest average temperature in autumn in Taiwan was 23.7 degrees in 1956, and the highest temperature was 26.3 degrees in 2017. The average temperature from 1991 to 2020 is 25.14 degrees.

Chen Yiliang, deputy director of the Forecast Center of the Meteorological Bureau, said that the temperature in Taiwan this autumn is normal to warm. The temperature in September and October is relatively comfortable, and November is the warmest in history. The average temperature from September to November 23 is 25.7 degrees, compared with The climate average is about 0.6 degrees higher; the average temperature in November is 24.3 degrees, which is 1.6 degrees higher than the climate average. In September this year, Yushan, Chiayi, and the east were relatively high temperature, and Yushan was the second warmest September for this station; in October, the temperature in the central mountainous area was significantly higher, and most stations in northern Taiwan had less sunshine hours; it was cooler in early November, and then the Pacific high pressure Intensified, the weather is sunny and stable, and the average temperature of the 13 stations is the highest in history.

In terms of rainfall, Chen Yiliang said that the autumn rainfall is concentrated in northern Taiwan, while the southwest has less rainfall, especially in Tainan, where the cumulative rainfall is the fourth lowest in history during the same period.

According to statistics, as of November 23 in autumn, the accumulated rainfall is 678.5 millimeters, which is not much different from the climate value of 605.66 millimeters.

In September, due to the peripheral circulation of the typhoon and the strengthening of the northeast wind, the northern and central mountainous areas have more rainfall, and other areas have less. The accumulated rainfall in Hengchun is only 13% of the climate value. The number of rainy days in Alishan, Dawu, Hengchun and Dongji Island It is the least in the same period; in October, affected by the peripheral circulation of Typhoon Nisha and Naiga accompanied by the northeast monsoon, there were local torrential rains in northern Taiwan, and the accumulated rainfall was more than three times the climate value; in early November, affected by the peripheral circulation of Typhoon Naiga and the northeast monsoon, Yilan has heavy rain, and Chiayi and Kaohsiung have almost no rainfall.

In terms of typhoons, Chen Yiliang pointed out that from September to November this year, a total of 13 typhoons were generated in the Northwest Pacific Ocean, which was more than the climate average of 10.87, and one of them (Xuan Lannuo) invaded the typhoon.
