"There is no problem to establish a dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin."

APA reports with reference to TASS that German Chancellor Olaf Scholtz said this.

"I don't see the need for the ex-head of the German government, Angela Merkel, to take on the role of mediator in order to establish a dialogue with official Moscow," he added.

Scholtz also noted that he still consults with Merkel on issues related to Russia in the course of his country's foreign policy.

The chancellor noted that it could be very dangerous for Germany to make hasty decisions against the background of the military operations started by Russia in Ukraine, and support will be provided to Ukraine as long as it is needed.
