Ukraine and Russia exchanged 50 prisoners of war each today. Fifty Russian soldiers have returned from the territory controlled by Kyiv as a result of negotiations, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced, BNT reported.

Andriy Yermak, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's chief of staff, confirmed the exchange, saying 50 Ukrainian servicemen had returned from Russian captivity.

Among the freed Ukrainian military are 19 defenders of Mariupol, including 12 people who participated in the defense of the Azovstal plant, Andriy Yermak said.
