The Kyiv City Council decided to confer the title of Honorary Citizen of Kyiv on former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

This was announced by the mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko.

"The Kyiv City Council approved the decision to confer the title of Honorary Citizen of Kyiv on Boris Johnson, a great friend of Ukraine. Boris visited the Ukrainian capital several times - both in peacetime and in the most dramatic time of our struggle against the Russian aggressor. Johnson did and, I am sure, will continue to do everything possible so that Great Britain and world leaders provided the necessary assistance to Ukraine," Klitschko wrote in a telegram.

The leader of Kyiv thanked Johnson for his support and noted that the award will be presented to him in the capital during the politician's next visit.

It will be recalled that the former Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson is considering the possibility of creating an organization that will support Ukraine during its post-war recovery.
