The Municipal Council decided at a regular session that the Municipality of Karlovo should organize the transportation of passengers on the directions "Karlovo - Klisura", "Karlovo - Voynyagovo" and "Karlovo - Kliment".

The transport is temporary and is for the period from December 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022, according to the official website of the municipality.

The proposal was made by the mayor, Dr. Emil Kabaivanov, in order to prevent a possible transport collapse in the municipality.

On November 2, 2022, the carrier "Hebros Bus" AD notified the municipality that as of December 1, 2022, it will stop fulfilling its obligations under the contract for the transport of passengers on the aforementioned routes.

Buses stop on intercity lines in the municipality of Karlovo

This refusal could potentially cause a serious social problem, for which the Minister of Transport Hristo Alexiev and the Regional Governor of Plovdiv Region - Angel Stoev were promptly informed by letters.

The management of the Municipality of Karlovo has commissioned an internal auditor to perform an analysis of the price for additional financing of public bus transport.

At the same time, negotiations are underway with commercial companies holding a license for public passenger transport, which will take over the transport on the routes closed by "Hebros Bus" AD.

Despite efforts, no agreement has yet been reached with the private carriers.

The transport organized by the Municipality of Karlovo will be financed with funds from the municipal budget, and passengers will be transported free of charge.

The corresponding timetable has also been prepared.

The municipality also reminds that along the route Klisura - Rozino - Hristo Danovo - Karnare - Iganovo - Anevo - Sopot - Karlovo there is a railway line on which BDZ carries out daily passenger transports.
