With the decision of the Municipal Council, the school in the village of Bradvari in Silistren, which has a history of over 80 years, is being closed from the next academic year.

Over BGN 200,000 have been provided by the Municipality since 2008 for additional financing.

The children in the school are decreasing in years.

Today, 28 children from the 1st to the 7th grade study there, commented Violeta Dinkova, head of the "Education" department.

According to the last census, Bradvari is the third largest village in Silistre Municipality and there are children in the village, said Mayor Nuran Halim, BNR reported.

For the next school year, out of five children of first grade age, the parents of only one have said that he will eventually go to school in Bradvari.

Thus, the village schools in Silistre Municipality remain two - in Kalipetrovo and Professor Ishirkovo.

The rest were closed after 1989, and the buildings are empty and crumbling.
