Belarusian dictator Oleksandr Lukashenko has denied information from some Western media that Belarusian troops will soon enter the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia.
This is reported by the pro-government Belarusian Telegram channel "Pool of the First".
"This is complete stupidity. If we get directly involved in this conflict with our armed forces, manpower, we will not add anything to it, but on the contrary, we will make it worse. This is not the role of Belarus in this conflict," Lukashenko emphasized.
At the same time, guided by the principle of "both yours and ours", the dictator said that he never refused to participate in the so-called "special military operation".
According to him, Belarus "is involved in it in many directions, but without the direct participation of the military."
"We don't get involved, we don't kill anyone, we don't introduce manpower there, because it is not necessary. Our armed forces, as much as we can use - 35-40 thousand - they will not solve the problem," Lukashenko said.
The self-proclaimed president of Belarus once again called on Ukraine to negotiate with Russia.
He believes that "Americans and Poles stand behind Kyiv".
"It is necessary to expose Ukraine and the Poles and the Americans who are behind them, in the form in which they should be deployed and shown to the whole world. They do not want to go to any peace negotiations. They, the Americans (they rule there through the Poles ), there is only one danger: nuclear conflict, nuclear weapons. Why? Because they will already be hot," the dictator concluded.
He twists as best he can: how Lukashenko avoids an open entry into the war
Earlier, Oleksandr Lukashenko said that Kyiv should "stop" and go to peace talks with the Russians in order to avoid huge casualties and the "complete destruction of Ukraine".
TSN.ua wrote about the level of threat to Ukraine from Belarus and whether a new attack on Kyiv is possible.
American General Ben Godges believes that if Alexander Lukashenko orders his army to advance, the Belarusians may revolt.
Pavlo Latushko, a Belarusian oppositionist living in Poland, said that Lukashenko is very afraid of the fate of the ex-president of Serbia, Slobodan Milosevic, and is trying to get security guarantees from China.
