At the Mechnikov regional hospital in Dnipro, during a complete blackout, a unique heart operation was performed.

General director of the hospital Serhiy Ryzhenko wrote about this on his social media page.

"Don't let yourself die when there's zero hope, and you can't wait even a single minute.

During the blackout, dozens of extremely serious patients were on the operating tables in Mechnikova.

Mechnikov's anesthesiologists and surgeons put on headlamps, saving everyone.

They gave the doomed man not only life, but also his heart and soul," said Serhii Ryzhenko.

He also added that surgeons performed operations in conditions of complete absence of light.

And this is the first time in 35 years of surgical practice of one of the local doctors.

"Extremely tense nerves, terrible fatigue, but Ruslan, who is only 23 years old, survived.

Let's pray that there will be life," the general director of the hospital emphasized.

What is known about the lack of light in the Dnipro

After massive rocket fire on November 23, electricity, water and heating disappeared in Dnipro.

The city was in a complete blackout.

Communal workers began to solve the problem with the electricity supply immediately after the termination of the air alarm.

However, it is impossible to immediately restore light in the entire city.

As of the evening of November 24, light appeared in almost all areas of the city.

However, only 25% of local residents have electricity in the region.
