Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is surrounded by his own party over the plan to build a house in Britain.

Rishi Sunak is facing opposition from dozens of Conservative members of his own party over his plans to build a house in Britain.

Some members are against it and want amendment in it.

Sunak has a majority of 69 members but if the Labor Party and other opposition parties support the rebels, Sunak will face defeat and the bill will have to be amended.

A government official told

Bloomberg

that the bill will be discussed on Wednesday.

Earlier governments have also faced rebellion regarding this plan to build houses in Britain.

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson also had to face opposition from his own party members for implementing this scheme.

According to Office for National Statistics data, construction started on around 206,000 new homes in 2021-22.

Former Environment Secretary Theresa Villiers is also opposed to the bill to change the plan and has also proposed for it.

Late on Tuesday, he hailed the government's decision to go to the polls, calling it a "significant victory".

"It shows ministers know they need to listen to us and need more time to find a solution," he said in a text message.

"There must be change."

Housing has long been a point of contention in the party.

Many party members want to talk to local communities about where to build houses.

Along with this, there is also a dispute regarding Greenfield and Brownfield.

One of the potential rebels, Damian Green, wrote on the ConservativeHome website on Tuesday: "A one-size-fits-all plan cannot recognize the different problems faced by different parts of the country."

“National averages for house prices are meaningless in the real world because the same house will be several times higher in price by area. This is why we need local decisions. The current bill was introduced in Parliament in May Johnson was prime minister at the time. Sunak's spokesman, Max Blaine, said Sunak was still committed to the government's target of building 300,000 homes. He said the Department for Leveling Up, Housing and Communities and its Secretary of State Michael Gove were "working on this". Very focused".
