Satyendra Jain had told the court the reason behind not eating food that according to Jainism, one cannot eat cooked food without going to the temple and worshiping.

They depend only on fruits and raw vegetables.

That too has been closed by the Tihar Jail administration.

Due to this, his weight has decreased by 28 kg.

At the same time, the jail administration claims that the weight of Satyendar Jain has increased by 8 kg.

The court had sought a report from Satyendar Jain in the matter.

Today the decision will be given on this.

Let us tell you that yesterday, jailed Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain filed an application in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court, requesting the Tihar authorities to direct them to provide food items according to their religious beliefs.

There is a possibility of hearing on this application before Special Judge Vikas Dhal on Tuesday.

In the application, a request has been made to direct the jail authorities to immediately conduct a medical examination of the minister.

Jain's lawyer Mohammad Irshad said that basic food and medical facilities are not being provided to Jain inside the jail.

He said that Kasab was also getting a fair trial.

I am not worse than him.

It has been said in the application filed in the court that according to Jainism, food is not available in the jail, in 5 months the weight has decreased by 28 kg.

The application alleged that since the day of his arrest on May 31, he has not been able to visit any Jain temple and "being a deep believer in Jainism, he observes a religious fast and eats cooked food, pulses, cereals and milk." Do not take products." The application claimed that he "strictly follows Jainism".

It has been said in the application that for the last 12 days, the jail administration has stopped providing basic food items to Jain as per his religious beliefs.

The application further states that withholding food items during religious fasting is "illegal", "arbitrary" and "oppression".

The application states that Jain was scheduled to go for a medical check-up including MRI scan on October 21, but was not allowed to do so by the jail authorities citing some pretext or other reasons.

Jain was arrested in a money laundering case on the basis of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR registered against him in 2017 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

On November 17, the court had denied bail to Jain and two others in the case.
