In Chianjur itself, hospitals are overflowing with wounded, many of them have to wait for medical assistance in tents pitched on city streets.

Rescue services continue search operations in the city's surroundings — local residents report dozens of missing relatives and friends.

The earthquake, which killed hundreds of residents of Chiyanjur, occurred on Monday, November 21.

Among the victims of the earthquake, as reported by the governor of the region, are many schoolchildren.
