The defense ministers of Norway, Sweden and Finland signed a declaration of intent for defense cooperation today in Oslo, the press service of the Swedish government announced.

The stated objective of the three countries is to strengthen their cooperation in operational planning in spheres of mutual interest and mainly in the northern parts of their territories, and also to improve the compatibility between their armed forces.

Norway is increasing its military readiness in response to the war in Ukraine

This tripartite defense cooperation complements the broader Northern Defense Cooperation (Nordefco) agreement, as well as the tripartite cooperation between Denmark, Norway and Sweden and the bilateral cooperation between these countries, said the announcement, quoted by BTA.
