After the missile incident in

Poland

, NATO countries that share borders with Ukraine should deploy additional air defenses for their own security.

This was stated by the head of the Foreign Ministry of Latvia, Edgar Rinkevich, in an interview on the TV3 channel.

According to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the incident in the Polish city of Perevodov, in which two people died, happened only because of the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.

Rinkevich says that the investigation into the fall of the missile is still ongoing, but this incident proves the need to deploy additional air defense systems in NATO countries bordering Ukraine.

Latvia itself is already strengthening its air defense, for which additional funds have been allocated.

It will be recalled that after a missile fell in Perevodov on November 15, Poland wants to

deploy Patriot air defense systems near the border with Ukraine.

Germany offered them to Warsaw.

The President of Poland Andrzej Duda himself does not rule out that

 various accidents may occur

on the territory of the country in the future as a result of the war in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, according to Reuters, the US State Department has authorized the sale

of HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems to Lithuania.
