In Kharkiv Oblast, Ukrzaliznytsia officials helped the occupiers to maintain railway connections with Russia.

Two former heads of the structural division of the Southern Railway of the region were engaged in this.

This was reported in the press service of the SBU.

As it became known, during the occupation of the region, officials managed a strategically important railway junction in Kupyansk, through which the occupiers exported Ukrainian grain.

The traitors controlled the movement of Russian echelons with military equipment and ammunition to conduct hostilities against the Defense Forces in the eastern direction.

Later it became known that the suspects are two former officials of the local division of Ukrzaliznytsia, who at the beginning of the full-scale invasion went over to the side of the occupiers.

"There they joined the ranks of the occupation administration, where one was appointed the head of the Kupyansk railway maintenance service, and the other his deputy.

In these "positions", the collaborators helped the enemy to maintain railway connections with the aggressor country, and also monitored the effective use of rolling stock in the interests of the occupiers," the SBU said.

Already after the liberation of the city, law enforcement officers detained one of the suspects, the other fled to Russia, where he is currently hiding.

The issue of declaring him wanted is being resolved.

We will remind that a 50-year-old man was blown up by a mine in the village of Pryshyb, Kharkiv region.

He died on the spot.

Mine danger still remains high in the region.
