Today is the ninth anniversary of the beginning of the Maidan -

the Revolution of Dignity

Ninth... But the freedom and dignity of the Ukrainian people is more than a thousand years old.

It is worth remembering this.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced this in an evening video address to Ukrainians on November 21

"There were many threats to the freedom of our people and the very existence of Ukrainians. But the people got through it. And now you and I have a historic opportunity to defend the Ukrainian will once and for all. I believe that it will be so. I thank everyone who supports our state ! Thank you to all those who fight and work for Ukraine! Eternal glory and honor to all those who gave their lives for freedom for our people! Glory to Ukraine!", Zelensky emphasized.

We will remind you that on January 22, 2014, the

most tragic stage of the Revolution of Dignity began in Kyiv.

Its first members died that day.

Later they were called the Heavenly Hundred.

Serhii Nihoyan from Dnipropetrovsk Region was fatally wounded in the head.

Belarusian Mykhailo Zhiznevsky died of a gunshot wound to the heart.
