Ukraine needs medium- and short-range missiles to protect itself from threats from Russia in the future.

So in 10-20 years we need to close ourselves off from this country.

The ex-extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Valery Chalyy said this on the Espresso broadcast.

According to Chaly, the Russian people have shown their complete inability to live in peace with neighboring states, so Ukraine needs to completely change its policy towards the Russian Federation and the future of its leadership.

"It seems to me that this group of people who are currently in charge of the Russian Federation will leave the scene physically. And then there will be the leadership of Russia or a group of countries that will be formed in these areas, then we will see what will happen there," Chaly said.

However, according to the diplomat, events in Russia will not develop according to an optimistic scenario for Ukraine.

"In the future, everything will depend on the people who live there. And we will need to guarantee our security, also join NATO, put up wire on the borders to prevent all kinds of illegal crossings - we will have to do all this," the diplomat noted.

According to him, in the next 10, 15 or 20 years, Ukraine needs to find ways to close itself off from the aggressor.

"We need to protect ourselves from their threats, and for this we need medium- and short-range missiles that reach their key decision-making points, as they say, and we also need the NATO umbrella," Chaly concluded.

We will remind, "Russia will need to go through the rebranding of the country."

This is how Mykhailo Podolyak spoke about possible negotiations with a sponsor of terrorism.
