[Instant News/Comprehensive Report] A KF-16 fighter jet in South Korea crashed due to an abnormal engine on the evening of the 20th.

"Yonhap News Agency" reported that the South Korean Air Force stated that at 8:50 pm local time (7:5 pm Taiwan time), a single-seat KF-16 of the 19th Fighter Wing was about 85 kilometers east of Seoul and west of Wonju Air Force Base. It crashed in a mountainous area about 20 kilometers away, and the pilot escaped by emergency ejection, and is currently safe and sound.

The military stated that the fighter plane was equipped with some weapons, including several air-to-air missiles, but no civilians have been injured so far, and the military will continue to investigate.

Excluding reconnaissance and emergency missions, the South Korean Air Force has ordered the grounding of fighter jets of the same type.

Officials said the KF-16 will remain grounded until the cause of the accident is determined.
