The Canadian government has allocated 12.3 million US dollars for humanitarian aid to Haiti.

APA reports that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said this at the summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie held in Djerba.

According to him, Canada will continue to provide necessary humanitarian assistance to Haiti.

The allocated funds will be transferred to Haiti through the United Nations.

In addition, Trudeau said that Ottawa has imposed sanctions on the former president of Haiti, Michel Martelly, whom he suspects of corruption.
