On Saturday, November 19, a fire broke out near the Russian city of St. Petersburg after an explosion on a gas pipeline.

The scale of the fire is impressive — the flames can be seen dozens of kilometers from the epicenter of the explosion.

Video of the incident is published by eyewitnesses on social networks.

According to preliminary information released by the authorities of the Leningrad region, the fire started as a result of an explosion on the gas pipeline between Bernhardivka and Kovalev, a few kilometers from the eastern outskirts of St. Petersburg.

The local governor assures that there is no threat to the population due to the fire, the causes of the explosion are being established.

It will be recalled that earlier in the Russian city of Kostroma there was a large-scale fire in the night club "Polygon", as a result of which 5 people died.
