The European Parliament has set a date for voting on a resolution in which Russia will be recognized as a state sponsor of terrorism.
This was announced on Friday, November 18, at a briefing by Deputy Spokesperson of the European Parliament Delphine Collard, "European Truth" reports.
"On Wednesday [November 23], the members of the European Parliament will vote for a resolution in which Russia is named a state sponsor of terrorism, taking into account the strengthening of Russian attacks on the civilian population and civilian targets in Ukraine," she said.
Delphine Collard also noted that the European Parliament will appeal to bring Russia to justice in an international tribunal.
A preliminary vote on this issue is scheduled for Tuesday, November 22.
After consultations with the European Commission and the Council of the European Union, the final decision in the European Parliament will be adopted on November 23-24.
The day before, the political groups of the European Parliament agreed on the text of the resolution on recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
It will contain a key provision: "The European Parliament ... recognizes Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism and a state that uses terrorist means."
We will remind you that on October 13, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe unanimously adopted a resolution in which the Russian Federation was called a terrorist regime.
