Russia's largest airline, Aeroflot, has begun dismantling its planes due to Western sanctions.

Serviceable parts are removed from them and rearranged on other planes.

Baza Telegram channel reports this.

According to public information, due to the influence of sanctions,

about 50 Aeroflot planes are idle and do not fly, and this is more than a quarter of the company's aircraft fleet

.

Most of them - 25 planes - began to be disassembled, because there is not enough spare parts.

Another 18 boards are undergoing maintenance and waiting for repair.

"True, they can wait a long time - Aeroflot lacks front wings, headlights, auxiliary power plants, air intakes, oxygen generators and engines. There is also a problem with braking devices: the airline has only a few similar parts for different types of aircraft in its warehouse," - said in the message.

There are serious problems in Russia's aviation industry

After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the European Union introduced sanctions, in particular, against the aviation industry.

Among the restrictions, most of the world's countries have closed the sky for Russians, and the lessors have put forward a demand to return all the planes to their owners.

Also, these planes were stripped of their flight safety certificates.

In Russia, they try to circumvent sanctions and actually steal planes.

However, captured planes can fly only within the country and to several "friendly" countries, and then until the planes are in a suitable technical condition, since foreign companies will not supply them with repairs or spare parts.

According to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, this year the Russian air market expects a drop in passenger traffic by another 20% from the level of the crisis year 2021, and compared to the "golden" 2019 - by more than 30%.
