[Reporter Cai Yunrong/Yilan Report] Yilan County Prosecutors and Police have recently uncovered vote-buying and election bribery cases in 5 districts, including the candidate for the town representative Lin Zhang in Toucheng Township, the spouse of the village head candidate Lin in Dongshan Township, and the villager Lin Zhang in Nanao Township. A representative candidate, a candidate surnamed Zhang for village head of Lunpi Village, Datong Township, and a person surnamed Zhuang bought votes for a candidate for a councilor in Yilan City.

Candidates surnamed Zhang were detained and banned from seeing, and the rest were handed over to bail for tens of thousands of yuan.

Lin Zhang, a town representative candidate in the first constituency of Toucheng Township, in order to be elected smoothly, together with three stakers, was suspected of bribing the election with 500 yuan in cash per vote. A total of 49,000 yuan was confiscated from the person's residence, the candidate was arrested for investigation, and 3 piles and 24 voters were successively notified to come to the case to explain.

After the prosecution resumed the interrogation, it was believed that the candidate surnamed Lin Zhang and the three stakers were involved in the crime of bribery in voting for public officials' election and recall law. The application for detention was approved, and the three stakers were not required to be detained. They ordered 30,000 yuan to be posted on bail.

In Dongshan Township Xiang and Village Chief Lin’s candidate, candidate’s spouse, and 2 piles of cash to buy votes, they bribed voters with 1,000 yuan per vote, and sought the support of several neighbors with cash ranging from 10,000 yuan per person.

After the prosecution resumed the interrogation, the candidate's spouse and Lin Zhuangjiao were involved in the crime of offering bribes. The suspicion of the crime was serious but there was no need for detention. 10,000 yuan and 10,000 yuan were handed over to security, and the rest should be returned after the hearing; another voter handed over 2,000 yuan in cash he had received.

Candidate surnamed Lin in the second electoral district of Nan'ao Township bought votes in cash of 1,000 yuan per vote. On the evening of the 15th, the candidate surnamed Lin went to the voter's residence to bribe. 5,800 yuan in cash and 1 leaflet were found. After the prosecution resumed interrogation, it was determined that the candidate was involved in the crime of bribery. The suspect was serious but there was no need for detention, and he ordered 100,000 yuan to be handed over on bail.

The other three voters who came to the case handed over received cash of 3,000 yuan, 4,000 yuan, and 4,000 yuan respectively, and please return them after the interrogation.

A candidate surnamed Zhang in Lunpi Village, Datong Township was suspected of buying tickets from a neighbor with 5,000 yuan in cash per ticket. The task force launched a search on the 16th and notified the candidate for the village head. People involved in bribery crimes, the crime is serious but there is no need for detention, and 100,000 yuan is ordered to be handed over to bail.

The other 4 neighbor elders who came to the case each handed over 5,000 yuan in cash they had received, and please return them after the interrogation.
