A single-engine plane crashed in North Ossetia, and according to initial reports, the pilot died on the spot.

APA reports that the regional head office for North Ossetia of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia broadcasted information about this on the "Telegram" channel.

"A single-engine private plane crashed near the village of Gizel at the airfield of the Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation and Navy (DOSAAF).

The identity of the dead pilot is being determined," it was said.

It was also noted that rescuers from the North Ossetian search and rescue unit of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia are working at the scene.
