The Russian occupiers will try to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions in order to demonstrate at least some success at the front.

Such a forecast was announced by Serhiy Cherevaty

, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

, on the air of the Freedom channel.

"The adversary will try to break through our defenses as far as he has the strength. What we are seeing now — most likely,

the military-political leadership has set the task of taking at least the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions

to show that they have liberated the so-called "DNR "and the LPR," he said.

As Cherevaty assured, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will do everything to ensure that this never happens.

According to him, the Armed Forces, having accumulated reserves and firepower,

can strike and, if possible, launch a counterattack, "as during the Kharkiv and Lyman operations

. "

The representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not specify where exactly to wait for the counteroffensive — "in the direction that our leadership will consider to be the most successful now."

Cherevaty also noted that offensive actions at the front may be complicated for both sides due to the weather:

"The weather unmasks. The theater of war is completely different because there is no foliage, no camouflage, open terrain.

If there is rain, mud and slush, it affects those who are trying to advance

- both the enemy and us. First in the mud wheeled equipment, cars, armored personnel carriers and other vehicles get stuck, followed by tanks and BMPs. Accordingly, it is impossible to conduct an offensive, and the war becomes an artillery and a sortie war."

According to him, "only if the ground freezes and there are certain conditions, the parties can start offensive actions."

Combat operations in Donbas

The Bakhmut and Avdiiv directions remain one of the hottest spots on the front.

According to the adviser of the President's Office Oleksiy Arestovych, it is especially difficult for Ukrainian defenders near Vugledar and Pavlivka and on the Bakhmut-Soledar line.

The Armed Forces reported that Russia is losing a battalion in Donetsk region every day.

In a telephone conversation intercepted by Ukrainian intelligence, one mobilized man told how the "Kadyrovs" did not allow the Russians to leave their positions.

President Volodymyr Zelensky called Donbas "the epicenter of the greatest madness of the Russian Federation."

Military expert Roman Svitan reported that Russia had transferred to Donbas the troops that retreated from Kherson to the right bank of the Dnieper.

Combat assault units increased the pressure of the invaders in the eastern direction.
