Azerbaijan Investment and Young Entrepreneurs Forum was held today in Baku with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA).

State officials, businessmen, investors, start-ups, youth organizations, representatives of international organizations and diplomatic corps from the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) participated in the forum, which was organized for the second year in cooperation with ICYF.

The purpose of the forum is to promote investment in our country with the participation of local and international organizations, representatives of state institutions, businessmen, investors, experts and startups and to inform them about investment opportunities, to develop a new vision in the field of supporting young entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan, Eurasia and the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. and discussing ways to strengthen the startup ecosystem.

The event began with the reading of verses from the Holy Quran in accordance with the traditions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Then the address of the President of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the forum participants was read.

At the opening of the forum, the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev, Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ahmad Kavesa Sengendo for Economic Affairs, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev, Head of the Financial Office of the President of the Republic of Turkey Göksel Aşan, Head of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Secretary Yousef Hasan Halavi, Director General of the Wealth Fund of Turkey Selim Arda Ermut, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurial Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) Orkhan Mammadov and President of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum Taha Ayhan spoke.

The forum will continue its work with panel discussions on "Human capital and entrepreneurship in OIC countries", "The role of youth in promoting innovation and technologies" and "Strengthening the development of startups: Building an effective investment ecosystem".

Within the framework of the event, an exhibition is also held where the projects of about 50 startups from OIC countries are presented.

The exhibition presents start-up projects on food and agricultural technologies, "green industry", fintech, games and applications, environment and renewable energy, smart technologies, aviation and space technology, logistics and "smart city", robotics.

The purpose of the exhibition is to contribute to the worldwide recognition of young entrepreneurs and startups from OIC countries, to support the financing of startup projects by about 30 investors participating in the forum.

Bilateral meetings between businessmen, investors and startups were also held within the framework of the forum.

Tomorrow - on November 18, the forum will continue its work with panel sessions on the topics "Key players of the future: Global entrepreneurs" and "The road to the Unicorn: Investors' expectations".
