NASAMS systems, which Ukraine received from US partners, helped repel a massive missile attack by Russia.

This was announced by US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin.

According to him, the NASAMS systems provided by Ukraine 100% helped repel the November 15 missile attack.

In addition, he believes that the work of the Ukrainian air defense forces shot down the missile, which then fell on the territory of Poland and caused the explosion.

However, the exact sources of the tragedy have not yet been established.

The United States and Warsaw continue to work to gather information about this tragedy.

In turn, the CNN channel, citing an official representative of the United States, reported that the explosion in Poland occurred when the air defense system tried to intercept a Russian missile during a massive attack on Ukraine.

"It is not yet clear whether the explosion in Poland was caused by Ukrainian air defense, but this information became the basis for the current assessment of the attack in the USA," the message reads.

What is known about the missile attack on Ukraine

In the evening of November 15, it became known that two rockets fell on the territory of Poland in a border village.

As a result, two people died.

After that, Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki convened an emergency meeting of the Committee of the Council of Ministers on National Security and Defense.

US President Biden later stated that the missiles were not fired from Russia.

However, he urged to wait for the investigation of the incident to be completed.

On November 16, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will hold a meeting of the North Atlantic Council in connection with the explosions in Poland.
