[Instant News/Comprehensive Report] The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement today (16th), clarifying that the missile that hit the Polish village last night was not launched by the Russian army, but originated from the Ukrainian S-300 air defense system, and that the Russian army only targeted Ukrainian attack; on the other hand, the Kremlin also praised US President Joe Biden's "measured" response afterwards, because Biden publicly stated that it was "unlikely" that the two missiles came from Russia.

"(Based on) photographs of the wreckage...have been clearly identified by Russian military experts as the wreckage of an anti-aircraft missile of the Ukrainian S-300 air defense system," the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement, AFP reported.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also pointed out that "(Russian army's) precision strikes are only aimed at targets in the territory of Ukraine, and the distance between the targets and the Ukrainian-Polish border is greater than 35 kilometers."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov praised the U.S. government’s response when talking about the incident, “In this case, attention should be paid to the prudent and more professional response of the U.S. side. As for what happened in Poland incident, Russia has nothing to do with it.”
