The Russian company "Transneft" announced that Ukraine has suspended the pumping of oil through the "Druzhba" pipeline in the direction of Hungary.

This was reported by the Russian mass media.

Ihor Dyomin, a representative of the Russian Transnafta, said that the cause of the shutdown was a "voltage drop."

"Ukraine has announced that it has suspended the pumping of oil through the Druzhba in the direction of Hungary," the message reads.

At the same time, the Ukrainian side has not yet officially confirmed this information.

What they say in Hungary

The Hungarian publication Index claims that a Russian missile hit the transformer substation of the electricity supply system on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, which is responsible for the smooth operation of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

The oil pipeline has stopped because there is no power supply to the pumps.

As a result of the strike, crude oil deliveries to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia via the Druzhba oil pipeline were temporarily stopped.

Orbán convenes the Defense Council

Prime Minister Viktor Orban published a message on his Facebook page that he "called a meeting of the Defense Council in connection with the latest events of the Russian-Ukrainian war."

"In response to the suspension of oil pumping and the missile attack on the territory of Poland, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán convened the Security Council," Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs added on Twitter.

Oil pipeline "Druzhba": what is known

"Druzhba" oil pipeline is the largest oil pipeline in the world.

It was built to transport oil from Russia to the countries of Central and Western Europe.

In Belarus, the oil pipeline branches into two branches: the northern (through Belarus to Poland and Germany) and the southern (through Ukraine to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary).

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the Russian Federation has accused Ukraine of stopping oil transit.

A similar statement was made in the Russian Federation in August of this year.
