Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at the Narendra Modi government, alleging that the 'Agneepath' recruitment scheme for the armed forces, demonetisation and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) policies were aimed at creating fear among the people of the country.


Addressing a public meeting in Maharashtra's Hingoli district on the 68th day of Congress' 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Prime Minister wanted 'Made in China' products as it would benefit the country's "two-three billionaires". Will happen.

Targeting the Rashtriya Swayamsek Sangh (RSS), Gandhi alleged, "It is patriotism not to waive farmers' loans, it is patriotism to implement wrong GST, it is patriotism to spread hatred in the country, (three) bringing agriculture law (which later Cancelled) is patriotism, unemployment is patriotism and inflation is patriotism.

This is not the patriotism of India.

This is the patriotism of the RSS.

Earlier in the day, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Monday said that 600 copies of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's book 'Discovery of India' will be distributed to the participants of the yatra on the occasion of the birth anniversary of India's first prime minister.

'Bharat Jodo Yatra' was given a one-day break in Maharashtra.

On Monday, the yatra proceeded from Kalamnuri in Hingoli towards Washim.

Jairam Ramesh tweeted, "Today is the 68th day of 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' and 133rd birth anniversary of Nehru.

We are in Hingoli district and coincidentally a book on him (Nehru) published in Hindi and English language as well as in Marathi has come across." have been doing and their relevance has increased after 2014.

600 copies of Nehru's iconic, 'Discovery of India' will be distributed to the passengers today.

A volunteer brought them, who made arrangements for them in a very short time and came here after completing a 23-hour journey from Delhi.

The 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' started on September 7 from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.

The yatra has so far passed through 28 districts in six states.

The yatra will cover a distance of 382 km, contacting people in five districts of Maharashtra before entering Madhya Pradesh on November 20.

The yatra will pass through 12 states before ending in Jammu and Kashmir after covering a distance of 3,570 km in about 150 days.
