The director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) William Burns is in Ankara to talk to his Russian intelligence counterpart and convey a message about the consequences if Russia uses nuclear weapons, a White House official said today, quoted by Reuters.

"He is not conducting any kind of negotiations. He is not discussing finding a solution to the war in Ukraine," noted the official, who wished to remain anonymous, and added that Burns will also raise the issue of the Americans detained in Russia, BTA reports.
