[Reporter Tu Jumin/Taipei Report] Chinese volunteer Zeng Shengguang went to Ukraine to join the army but unfortunately died in action. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today that the Ukrainian military will hold a memorial ceremony today (14) in the western city of Lviv.

Under the circumstance of ensuring the safety of the family members, they were accompanied by my colleagues in the relevant offices of our country to participate, and the scene was solemn and solemn.

Hundreds of Ukrainian people attended the event voluntarily, showing the Ukrainian people's gratitude to the Chinese surnamed Zeng.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that after the news of Zeng Shengguang's death came out, the Chinese government and people, the Ukrainian diaspora community in Taiwan, and friends from all walks of life in Ukraine were shocked and saddened.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately expressed its deep condolences to the family members and expressed that the government will continue to provide all necessary assistance.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs quickly got in touch with relevant units in Uzbekistan through various channels to ensure that the remains of Zeng Volunteer Army were properly placed.

In order to help the family members go to confirm the remains in the shortest time and deal with the funeral, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that we urgently issued passports and other travel documents on November 7, and assisted the family members to take a flight to neighboring countries in Eastern Europe on the same evening.

After the family members arrive in a neighboring country, the embassy will brief the family members on different plans and follow-up processing according to the family members' wishes.

During the period, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also continued to maintain close contact with relevant units in Uzbekistan, assisting family members to obtain visas for Uzbekistan quickly, and coordinating matters such as the transportation of the remains and the handling of the farewell ceremony.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its sincerest condolences to Zeng Shengguang who fought bravely and sacrificed his life on the Ukrainian frontline, and pays tribute to his perseverance in assisting the Ukrainian people in defending freedom and democracy.
