The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that today the West is attacking Russia, so the Russian Federation is supposedly "resisting" against this background.

Erdogan told reporters after returning from the Turkic Council summit in Samarkand, TRT TV channel reports

"We are going through an unusual process. Russia is not an ordinary state, it is a powerful state. Of course, the

West, especially America, attacks Russia almost without limit

. Against the background of all this, of course, Russia is currently resisting," said the Turkish president.

He also expressed hope for negotiations with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry,

Sergey Lavrov

, within the framework of the G20 summit, in particular, on the war in Ukraine.

"In these two or three days, if I can get in touch with him, maybe I'll have an opportunity to talk to him about what he thinks, what steps they're going to take, especially what steps they can take to make this process, that is, to transform dialogue into peace," Erdogan said.

We will remind you that earlier the President of Turkey said that he is making every effort to end the war in Ukraine with a peace treaty.

Subsequently, it became known that Erdogan plans to call the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Volodymyr Putin, to discuss possible future peace talks in Ukraine.

Political expert Stanislav Zhelikhovsky warned that Russia will try to put pressure to bring Ukraine to the negotiating table.

In particular, at the "Group of Twenty" summit, the Russian delegation will try to influence Ukraine's decisions through various countries, including Turkey.
