A Ukrainian citizen has a court-imposed remand "detention in custody" for driving with 3.28 percent of alcohol on the E-79 road.

Today, the Vidin District Court granted the request of the Vidin District Prosecutor's Office to take a measure of remand "detention in custody" against the citizen of Ukraine A.B., brought as a defendant for a crime committed by him under Art.

343b, para.

1 of the NC.

drove a cargo combination of a tractor with a semi-trailer on the international road E-79.

During a proper check, it was found that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

A technical means reported the presence of 3.28 per thousand. 

In this case, pre-trial proceedings were initiated for driving a vehicle while consuming alcohol.

By decree of the supervising prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office - Vidin, the Ukrainian citizen A.B.

was detained for up to 72 hours.

In a court session, the court accepted the arguments of the prosecution for a reasonable assumption about the criminal act committed by the accused.

There is a real danger that he will abscond or commit a crime, the prosecutor's office specifies.

A 21-year-old man was caught driving without a license, drunk and with plates on another car

Only for the last five days, from November 4 to 8 inclusive, on the territory of the Vidin region, during police checks, three cases of drunk drivers were found.

In two of the cases, the drivers who drank alcohol and sat behind the wheel were women, according to a BTA report in the official bulletins of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Vidin.

On November 6, around 8:20 a.m. in the town of Bregovo, police officers stopped a Honda Civic car driven by a 53-year-old Vidin woman for inspection.

When tested with a dragger, her sample reported the presence of alcohol at 3.26 per mille.

The woman gave a blood sample for testing at CSMP-Vidin.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case. 

On November 8 at 12:31 a.m., a report of an accident on Pannonia Blvd. was received on tel. 112.

An Opel passenger car with Vidin registration, driven by a 30-year-old resident of the regional town, hit a van with a platform-type trailer attached from behind.

The woman's breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol level of 1.55 per mille.

She was detained with a police measure for a period of up to 24 hours.

A breathalyzer test of the driver of the other vehicle was negative for alcohol.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
